Mercury Removal

Mercury Removal

The purpose of the Mercury removal from hydrocarbon streams to avoid corrosion of equipment, poisoning of catalysts and to comply with environmental regulations.Mercury content in crude oil is a growing problem for the refiners. Much of the mercury in crude oil and refined product streams existed in elemental form. Almost all hydrocarbons contain mercury, include natural gas, LNG, naphtha which it is likely to be present as elemental mercury or as organo-metallic and ionic mercury. Elemental mercury is a relatively low boiling species. Mercury present could poison downstream catalysts such as in the catalytic reformer or isomerisation unit. So removal and capture of mercury is very important for the oil refineries & gas processing plants.

Chempack offer a serial of the mercury adsorbent for natural gas, LNG, LPG, condensates and naphtha production, the materials from activated carbon based adsorbents to metal sulfide catalysts, the PuriSorb Mercury Guard is developed with highly promoted macroporous alumina adsorbent which can minimize capillary condensation of heavy hydrocarbon for better performance.
