CO Shift Catalyst Process

CO Shift Catalyst Process

At the outlet of steam reformers, or coke oven gas unit,s the syngas contains H2, CO, CO2, CH4 and water. Carbon monoxide leaving the secondary reformer is converted to useful hydrogen by the water gas shift reaction in a two-stage recovery section. The original high temperature shift reactor(with Fe Based High Temperature Shift Catalyst) is combined with a low temperature reactor filled with a Cu/Zn based Low Temperature Shift Catalyst (LTS) Catalyst.

The CO shift conversion an important portion of the CO content in the cracked gas is used for additional hydrogen generation, which is following the chemical reaction:

CO + H2O ⇌ CO2 + H2

Efficient CO conversion plays an important role in the operating cost of the plant. Chempack offers both High Temperature Shift Catalyst & Low Temperature Shift Catalyst with outstanding performance, stability and high specific activity.
